The Centre for Research and Training in Ultrasound carries out care activities as well as training and research; in 2006 it obtained the Quality System Certificate (cert. n.4000 ECO-A) in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard for the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic internist, interventional and vascular ultrasound scans for hospitalised patients and outpatients and for the planning and organisation of training courses in:

- Clinical Ultrasound (internist, interventional and vascular) for training projects defined at national level by SIUMB (Italian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology)

- Bedside Ultrasound or training projects defined at national level by SIMI (Italian Society of Internal Medicine)

- Ultrasound for Nurses for projects and courses defined at national level by IPAVSI (Nursing Colleges Federation)

The Centre is situated on the 2nd floor of the Outpatient Unit and consists of:
- a Front Office
- two Internist Ultrasound Rooms
- two Vascular Ultrasound Rooms
- a Room for 2nd level Ultrasound with contrast medium and Interventional Ultrasound
- a Room for Internist and Interventional Ultrasound at the Ospedale Bellaria
- a Manager’s office
- a School Secretariat and 3 doctor’s studies
